Chapter 1: Life’s like this.
I could hear the sound of wailing guitars floating upstairs, please, not again. Rian’s drumming was enough of a pain but when he invited the rest of the band round for rehearsals, it was like a living hell. Alex and Jack are nice guys, a bit quirky, but not one of those boys ever seems to realize that there is another person in the house. I stomped down to the basement and barged in on their rehearsal
“Don’t you ever…”
But before I could finish my sentence I noticed there was an extra person in the basement, a good looking boy who I thought I had seen around at school a couple of times.
Oh great, ANOTHER one of them, pouncing around like crazy while playing whatever instrument it is he plays. Better introduce myself.
“Hey, I’m Emma.”
But before the mystery boy could even respond, Alex cut in
“Emma, this is Zack, he knows how to play bass.”
Hmm well thats nice, it doesn’t mean I’m going to get any peace quiet though does it?
“Well that’s nice, you finally have a full band. Do you think you could at least try and keep it a *tad* quieter, or is that just not possible?”
They all looked at me and laughed like I was a madwoman. Seeing I was getting nowhere I decided to leave them to practice whatever they were practicing while I went upstairs to work on my novel. Nobody else knew about my book I was writing, and I planned to keep it that way.I got straight to work but as I was doing so I ended up thinking about Zack.
He seems oddly familiar, he just gives me this vibe like “Hey I know you” even though he never even said anything. I’m sure it’s nothing anyway, we proabably just went to the same middle school.
Since my mind was wandering I couldn’t focus on my work, so I hauled myself out of my desk chair and wandered over to my un-made bed; I slid in under the blankets and tried to get comfortable, when I found a nice position with my pillow blocking out the “music” I tried to get some well deserved sleep.
