Ghost Ghost

Chapter 2: How was I supposed to know?

*BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP*

And thus the school day starts. Get up, Have a shower, Get dressed, Wake up Rian and Leave. I’ve lived by this routine for years but it doesn’t make it any easier. Waking up myself is hard enough but trying to wake up Rian is like trying to bring the dead back to life.

“RIAN! WAKE THE FUCK UP!”

“hnng.”

“Well you’re the one who’ll be late. I’m leaving now, so don’t blame me if you sleep till three.”

“nyup.”

I grabbed my bag and ran for the door.

If I spend more time than I need to with this idiot I might stoop to his level.

When I got to school I saw Jo-Anne by my locker, she looked angry and like she had been waiting there a while, which is strange because she is usually late.

“Where have you been?”

“Me? I’m usually here now, what about you? Why are you so early?”

“Don’t you remember? The football team is training early today.”

“Let me guess, you want to ogle?”

“Yes, and you don’t?”

“No actually, I don’t. If you wanna go ogle you’ll have to do it without me.”

“You’re never any fun! Well I’ll see you in English then”

“Yeah, see ya.”

While Jo was off watching the team, I had better things to do. I took my books and my journal out of my locker and made my way down the hall towards the library, one of the only safe places here. When I turned the corner I managed to bang into someone.

“Oi, watch where yo…”

“You have a thing for leaving your sentences un-finished, don’t you?”

“How would you know? You don’t know me.”

“Yeah, but every time I’ve met you, you’ve left behind un-finished sentences.”

“Well.. Yeah.. But.. Well can you please just move, I was trying to go somewhere.”

“Ok, ok. I’m terrible with names, what was yours again?”

“Emma, and you’re Zack, now please, can you let me pass?”

“Sure, bye Emma”

“Bye”

And good riddance.
